When looking for early childhood education (ECE) centres, parents are often worried that a centre may be too big, or feel too corporate, and their child will get lost in the mix. At Greendale Kids Preschool, we keep our numbers low, so that our dedicated teaching team can form relationships with all our children, and offer individual attention.
Our early childhood education philosophy follows Te Whāriki, the New Zealand early childhood curriculum and also has a strong focus on sustainability and a connection with nature, and connecting with our whānau and community.
We offer preschool education for children aged between 2 and 6 years old, at our centre conveniently located in Greenmeadows. We licensed to open from 7:15am to 5:30pm each day, all year round and we also offer meals cooked onsite. Our preschool also offers the 20 Hours ECE subsidy for 3 and 4 year olds.

Or, if you prefer a home-based care option, we have King Street Kids which offers small-group, mixed-age preschool education.

From a dedicated art room to a family play area, and even a quiet space for reading and reflection, we cater to all interests and learning styles. Our thoughtfully designed spaces are filled with natural resources, providing ample opportunities for exploration and discovery. Outside we have a playground and swings as well as bikes and loose parts to play with.
Our balanced curriculum is designed to promote physical, social, and cognitive development. We offer a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, sensory experiences, and challenging tasks that nurture all aspects of your child's growth. Our approach ensures that your child has a well-rounded education that prepares them for the future.

Children are offered lots of opportunities to develop independence
It's important for young children to be given the chance to develop skills and independence so we work to incorporate moments where our children can do that. Those include:
- helping to make decisions about what is set up, and sharing their ideas
- setting up the areas for play and getting out equipment and tidying up at the end of a session
- being supported to go to the toilet on their own if they are capable, washing their hands and dressing themselves
- serving their own morning and afternoon tea
